- Several factors in the manufacturing process contribute to final product quality. In Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production, a fast and highly accurate visual inspection of the assembly process is paramount among these factors. For this reason, Ryder has invested in Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) in post-reflow to detect SMT defects. The system has been in operation since the mid-2009, with a strong positive impact on product quality, stimulating us to embrace an ambitious new objective: to manufacture no less than 100% "no failure" products for our customers.
- Automatic Optical Inspections can detect defects and classify them efficiently and accurately. The system performs a variety of important tasks, including:
- Imaging and calculation
- In-line or off-line defect scanning and statistical computation
- Data analysis and review
